  1. Save the bookmarklet
  2. Open the Re:Poste comment window
Save the bookmarklet

Important note: This only applies to the bookmarklet for viewers. If you are a contributor, log in and go to the help page in your control panel.

To save the Re:Poste bookmarklet, right-click on this link and select "Add to Favorites..." (Internet Explorer) or "Bookmark this link..." (Mozilla/Firefox). You may get a warning that it is not safe to save the bookmarklet--just hit 'yes' to save it anyway.

Open the Re:Poste comment window

When you are reading a story on one of the news sites covered by Re:Poste, go to your favorites/bookmarks menu and select 'Re:Poste Bookmarklet'. This will load any comments in the Re:Poste database about the story you are reading.

Once the comment window is open, you will see the interface below:

Move Re:Poste Window: To move the Re:Poste window, just put your mouse over the outside of the window, click, and drag.
Close Re:Poste: Click on the X to close the Re:Poste window.
Scroll Comments: Scroll the comments up and down if they are too long for the window.
Article Rating: This displays the overall rating of the news article. 0% means that everybody who has rated it thinks it is inaccurate, 100% means that everybody who has rated it thinks it is accurate, and 50% most likely means nobody has rated it yet.
Expertise Icon: The color of this icon represents the level of expertise claimed by the person who wrote this comment. The scale goes from red to green--bright red means the person has no particular expertise, while bright green means they claim to be an expert on the subject of the article.
Comment Bubble: The color of this bubble represents the rating of the comment it contains. If the color is bright red, that means most people have strongly disagreed with the comment, while bright green means they strongly agreed.
